What should I wear?     Top of Page

Please wear clothes that can get dirty.  We will provide smocks for those students who do not have the opportunity to change clothes prior to attending class.

Please wear closed toes shoes.  Sandals and flip-flops can be dangerous and will expose your feet to potential injury.

Leave all your valuable jewelry at home.  We will ask you to remove all rings and any hanging jewelry like bracelets or necklaces.  We do not want you to misplace your valuables during class so it is best if you can leave them safely at home.

Tie back long hair from your face.  Because of safety concerns, especially with the use of power tools, we will ask that all long hair be pulled back and secured away from your face.  We will provide hair ties for those students who may need them.

How old do you have to be to attend the classes?     Top of Page

The classes are designed for women over the age of 18, however we will gladly register young women, 16 or 17 years old, with a parent or guardian willing to sign a liability waiver and who will attend the class with someone 18 years old or older (the adult attending the class with the young woman does NOT need to be her parent or guardian).  If you have a group of young women below the age of 16 that you think would benefit from any of our classes please contact us at questions@workshopforwomen.com  or 303-284-6354 to discuss special arrangements.

Can men sign up for the classes?     Top of Page

Of course they can.  Although we don’t market our classes directly to men, the class content is of general interest.  The class content and classroom environment were specifically designed to appeal to women.  We are well aware of the fact that men could use this type of instruction and welcome them into our classes.

What makes the classes “especially” designed for women?     Top of Page

Our classes are held in a small brick bungalow built in 1914. The atmosphere and environment is welcoming and comfortable allowing for socializing and fellowship.  It has been designed to appeal to women.  Our class curriculum was created knowing that some, if not most, women have had little or no exposure to some of the very basic skills necessary for tackling home improvement tasks.  We assume you come to class with no experience.  We treat every student with respect, knowing that there is no such thing as a ‘stupid’ question and that no matter how little or how much you know there is always an opportunity to learn.  We encourage students to share their personal knowledge and experience with each other.  We encourage laughter, fellowship and support.

How many students are typically in a class?     Top of Page

Class size can vary from 1 to 6.  Class size is limited to no more than 6 students.

Why are the classes limited to 6 students?     Top of Page

Our class size is limited to ensure the best experience for each student.  The small class size allows for plenty of time for hands-on practice and allows the facilitator to give more personalized instruction.  If you have a group of more than 6 that would like to attend a class together, please contact us at questions@workshopforwomen.com or 303-284-6354 to discuss special arrangements.
